Emtek door hardware is available in all functions usually required in a house. These include passage, privacy, and dummy. Deadbolts  and Decorative Plate Locks are available in single cylinder (single keyed) and double cylinder (double keyed) functions. Keyed Knobsets and Leversets are available with one function only: a keyed cylinder on the outside and a turn piece release on the inside.

Passage
This function is used for doors where no locking is required. The knob or lever freely operates the latch. Passage sets are commonly used on interior doors (bathrooms/closets), and sometimes on an exterior door in conjunction with a separate deadbolt.
Privacy

Usually used on bathroom doors, bedroom doors, and any other door that needs to be locked from the inside. Pushing the push-pin located on the inside rosette or knob fixes the outside handle and turning the inside handle releases the lock.  A clearance hole is provided on the outside rosette or knob to permit the lock to be released with a nail if needed.

 Dummy
This function is sold as a pair of knobs or levers (1 left hand lever or right hand lever). Used on fixed (non-operating) doors and doors where a dummy is needed on both sides. These knobs and levers do not operate, they stay in a fixed position, and no latch is provided or normally needed. Dummy knobs and levers require no door prep and are surface mounted on the door. Dummy knobs and levers provide a firm grip where desired and are used on the non-locking side of French doors to give a matching appearance. If you only need 1 dummy, select ".5" for the quantity during checkout. Please note we may need the handing for some dummy single levers because of their design.

**The Emtek Wilshire Sideplate dummy function is NOT surface mounted and must be installed back-to-back.

 Dummy–Single

Dummy trim for one side of a door. Used for a door pull or as a matching inactive trim. Sold as one knob, one right hand lever, or one left hand lever. Normally used in combination with a ball or friction catch. If you only need 1 dummy, select ".5" for the quantity during checkout. Please note we may need the handing for some dummy single levers because of their design.

**The Emtek Wilshire Sideplate dummy function is NOT surface mounted and must be installed back-to-back.
